Issue Position Papers

Occasionally the GITA Board of Directors has elected to release a document which serves as the Association's official position on a geospatial issue impacting the community or public. Documents so offered do not follow a standard format, but are tailored as appropriate for circumstances.

Senate Bill S-1253, Geospatial Data Act of 2017, and Similar Resolutions, Bills or Proposals Before the Various State Legislatures

GITA opposes the Geospatial Data Act of 2017 and any other federal or state legislation which contains language which can be interpreted as restricting government geospatial contracts to only entities which have on staff licensed surveyors, engineers or architects.
