GITA Debuts Member Levels For Early Career Professionals & Retirees

Posted: Dec. 20, 2018

GITA, the Geospatial Information & Technology Association, today debuted membership levels for early-career and retired professionals.

  • Early Career Professionals are defined as persons in their first through fourth years following their college graduation. An individual membership is now priced at $25 for a first-year professional; $50 for the second year; $75 third year; and $100, fourth year.
  • Retired memberships are for individuals who have concluded working permanently.

The association's board voted at its meeting this week to introduce the member types to recognize the career realities that face both new and retiring workforce members.

The early career professional rates acknowledge that the transition of student members to full dues-paying individual GITA members naturally occurs over years, not immediately. GITA's volunteer leaders think that the new levels will strengthen the organization by keeping more people in active membership status, reducing member churn.

All of the levels described above are in effect as of today, Dec. 20, 2018.
